Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. Wow! What a beautiful story! Jude is such a jerk right from the beginning! But as you start to see what he's been through and why he acts that way, it at least makes sense. Marley has been through hell but somehow has managed to keep her head and fight for a better life no matter what it costs her. She seems to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time and that's how she gets thrown into this maddening situation with Jude. Of course they clash from the very beginning but Jude really gets thrown for a loop when he realizes that his hunter, Biloxi, is now chasing Marley, too. This is such an intense story with action around every corner. Not to mention a huge revelation that will leave your mouth hanging open for a while. All in all, this was a brilliant story that I absolutely loved!
