Inescapable (The Premonition #1) by Amy Bartol

My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me--my freshman year of college. I had been hoping that once I had arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that I've been having would go away. It hasn't.

I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I'm grounded...sane. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he is near, I feel an attraction to him--a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you're thinking...that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would--if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I'm the worst thing that's ever happened to Crestwood...or him. But, get this, for some reason every time I turn around he's there, barging into my life.

What is the secret he is keeping from me? I'm hoping that it is anything but what I expect: that he is not exactly normal...and neither am I. So maybe Crestwood won't be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I have been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is...inescapable.

My Review
I absolutely love this book! Evie is just awesome because even though she feels like she's a little different, she doesn't let it stop her from getting out there and doing what she wants. She's brave, caring, independent, and able to tackle anything that life throws at her. Even a arrogant, sexy jerk like Reed. No matter what a pain he is, she stands up to him and won't be intimidated. And no one seems to get him more rattled than she does. I love their interactions as they try to learn more about each other and how to deal with each other. There are so other fabulous characters and some crazy surprises to keep things exciting all through the book. I can't wait to continue this series!

Defy (Firstborn Trilogy #1) by Raine Thomas

Seventeen-year-old Tate is about to make her parents’ dreams come true. Unfortunately for her, their dreams foretell her death.

Eager to explore more of the Estilorian plane and prove her abilities, Tate goes against her parents’ wishes and leaves the area of protection surrounding her home. Her choice puts her on a deadly path…one that leaves her alone, severely injured and battling for her life.

Her possible savior arrives in the form of Zachariah, a male who has removed himself from Estilorian society for more than fifty years. Fighting an unexpected connection to Tate, he must decide whether saving her life is worth destroying his.

As Tate struggles to find a way home, she ends up drawn into a dark Mercesti plot involving multiple murders and a powerful ancient artifact. With the unpredictable Zachariah as her only source for aid, she’ll soon find out if her abilities are strong enough to help her defy her Fate.

My Review
Wow! What a remarkable world! First of all, Tate is just fabulous -from her eccentric hair to her vibrant personality! She is very brave, in her own defiant way, and really wants to prove herself and make her family proud. When she is in her most vulnerable state, along comes her hunky savior. Except he ends up being a rude, detached, possibly homicidal, jerk. I love how she seems to know just how to push his buttons and really enjoys seeing him on edge. He has absolutely no idea how to handle a girl as bold and beautiful as Tate. I can't wait to see what comes next in this story!

Smash Into You by Shelly Crane

Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. But then she was murdered and all he saw was a running silhouette of a man as his mother said three final words to him. Three words that changed his whole being.

Never stop running…

Now he's semi-settled into a big town. The college is huge and easy to blend into. It's been three months since he had to move because 'Biloxi', as he calls the man who killed his mother, found him once more.

Then Marley, an eighteen year old girl who is as infuriating as she is blissfully ignorant of her gorgeousness, smashes into his car with hers. Then smashes into his life as he realizes that whatever it is he has that Biloxi wants, she has it, too. And now, they're after them both.

My Review
Wow! What a beautiful story! Jude is such a jerk right from the beginning! But as you start to see what he's been through and why he acts that way, it at least makes sense. Marley has been through hell but somehow has managed to keep her head and fight for a better life no matter what it costs her. She seems to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time and that's how she gets thrown into this maddening situation with Jude. Of course they clash from the very beginning but Jude really gets thrown for a loop when he realizes that his hunter, Biloxi, is now chasing Marley, too. This is such an intense story with action around every corner. Not to mention a huge revelation that will leave your mouth hanging open for a while. All in all, this was a brilliant story that I absolutely loved!

See (See #1) by Jamie Magee

Forgetting who you are, your ambitions, your passions is crippling….but remembering – embracing your purpose with a new sense of determination is more than empowering….it's life altering. Charlie Myers is on a life altering path that will cause the dammed to humble in silence.

One night…just a few friends, how could it go so wrong? That was the question seventeen year old Charlie Myers was asking when she found herself in the ER. Outwardly nothing was wrong with Charlie, she was a vision of perfect heath, internally she was battling a raging headache…one the doctor told her she would overcome shortly, but Charlie knew something else was wrong …very wrong.

Part of her had been stolen…she was missing memories. Those memories were sacred. They held the key to her sanity. They told her that the sinister whispers, the shadows that came to life before her were not as ominous as she felt they were. They held the bond with her late father, a famed musician. They caused her to forget the one talent that allowed her to face the darkness that haunted her every waking hour. They also masked a much deeper bond, the face of the one that had stolen her heart, long before the age of seventeen.

Sitting in the ER with her angry mother she couldn’t figure out what she was missing, or even how. Her thoughts told her that she needed to protect Britain, a friend of hers, but that didn’t make any sense – Britain didn’t need to be protected from anyone, he was strong, young, and absurdly wealthy. Charlie also knew that even though her friend Bianca called Charlie her best friend, she didn’t trust her …she was almost sure she despised her, but she couldn’t figure out why, or understand how random thoughts were telling her that she adored both Britain and Bianca – that they were her saviors – that they brought silence to the unstoppable whispers, but the silence scared Charlie. In her mind anyone or anything that could bring silence to something that dark could not be good.

Charlie wanted to stay in NY, figure out what she was missing, why, and who was behind it all, but her mother had other plans. Against her will, Charlie was sent to Salem to live with her sister, within that small town Charlie found her memories and so much more.

Her story begins now.

My Review
I freakin' LOVE this book!! I mean, seriously LOVE it!! This was definitely one of those stay-up-all-night-to-finish-it books and it was worth every second of lost sleep! The mystery and tension had me hooked from the very beginning. Charlie had lost a good part of her memory so she didn't have a clue what was going on: the reader gets to live that right along with her. But even though I had no clue what was going on, I was fully absorbed and loving it! There are so many anxiety-filled moments where she is just right on the verge of remembering something that it almost drove me insane waiting for it to all come together! But through all that heartbreaking suspense there was this wonderful distraction named Draven. Just reading about him gives me goosebumps - he is perfect beyond words. I love their interaction as she tries to remember if she knew him before and if she should get to know him now. I will definitely have no problem remembering him - I can't get him outta my head!

Sovereign Hope (Hope #1) by Frankie Rose

Everyone has a soul.

Some are just worth more than others.

Farley Hope was seventeen when her mother disappeared. In the last six months not much has changed, except that her eighteenth birthday came and went and still no sign of Moira. Her life is just as complicated as it always was: since her father died in a car crash before she was even born, she’s officially parentless, and to top it all off she’s still suffering from the hallucinations. Mind-splitting, vivid hallucinations- the kind prone to induce night terrors and leave you whimpering under your covers like a baby.

The last thing on her mind is boys. Farley is on break from St. Judes’ when she meets Daniel. It’s not some casual run in at a party, or even a blind date with friends, though. Daniel is the guy stalking her in his 1970′s Dodge Charger; the guy standing at her window in the LA lunch hour traffic, determined on dragging her out of her truck.

The moment Farley lays eyes on Daniel, everything changes. However, regrettably for Farley, her life isn’t set to change for the better. She is drawn into a world that will shake apart everything she thought she ever knew. There are truths out there that she must learn: who her father really was, and what it means to have his blood flowing through her veins; that a person’s soul is their only real currency, and there are people who would do anything to take hers; that loving someone can hurt so much more than hating them; but, most importantly, when your future is predestined, there is little you can do to change it.

Farley Hope is prophesied.

Her coming has been awaited for hundreds of years.

She is destined to end the tyranny of the Soul Reavers.

To do so she must die.

My Review
Oh man! This was such a smashing book! I had to force myself to stop and write this review before diving right into book 2. I miss Farley & Daniel already! Farley was so brave and steady from the very beginning. Most people in her shoes would've fallen apart but she kept her faith and kept pushing forward no matter what. And what can I say about Daniel? He's an arrogant, rude, too-sexy-for-his-own-good, badass. I fell in love with him immediately. Their chemistry together was...well.. tense. Unsettling. But positively electrifying. And I absolutely can't wait to find out what else is in store for them and their fabulous friends.

Forbidden (Arotas Trilogy #1) by Amy Miles

Roseline Enescue didn't ask to become an Immortal, to have all of the guests at her wedding slaughtered, or be forced into marriage with a man whose lust for blood would one day ignite the vampire legend. Willing to risk everything for a chance at a normal life, Roseline escapes to America. Terrified her husband Vladimir will find her, Roseline enrolls as a senior in Chicago's elite Rosewood Prep school. Mingling with humans is the last place he would look for her. But her transition into the human world isn't easy. Mortal men flock after her while cutthroat girls plot her demise. Yet Roseline remains relatively unfazed by the petty hysteria until she falters into the arms of Gabriel Marston, reluctant MVP quarterback, unwilling ladies man, and sensitive artist in hiding. Troubled by the bond that pulls her towards the mortal boy, Roseline tries to ignore him, but Gabriel is persistent. As their lives entwine, Roseline begins to realize that Gabriel is much more than he appears. His ability to toss a football the entire length of the field and grind concrete into dust pales in comparison to the glowing blue cross tattoo that mysteriously appears on his forearms. Despite the forbidden bond between them, Roseline can't help wondering what Gabriel is: He's not human. He's not Immortal. So just what is he?

My Review
Oh wow! I love this story! Rose is just amazing! She's so soft-hearted and sweet but underneath all that she can be terrifying and dangerous. She will go to any length to protect those she cares about. Then there's Gabriel, as if he isn't dreamy enough already, he's also got this mysterious side to add to the attraction. Rose may not know exactly what he is, but he's irresistible just the same. There are so many parts to this story that just break my heart but somehow Rose and Gabe manage to remain strong and keep hoping for their future. I can't wait to see how their story progresses!

Semester Aboard (More Than Magic #1) by Elizabeth Kirke

Jen is looking forward to spending an entire summer studying abroad on a cruise ship and she knows the experience will change her life. Then she sees something she wasn't supposed to see, something she can't explain. Jen finds herself thrust into a world she never knew existed and her life will change more than she imagined. That is, if she can survive the dangers lurking on the ship.

My Review
Loved it!! This story was so intriguing right from the beginning. A semester on a cruise ship sounds amazing on its own but once you add a few gorgeous guys who can do some seriously odd stuff - now I'm hooked! I loved how persistently curious Jen was after she spotted something out of the ordinary, she just had to have an explanation. Although she may have gotten a little more than she bargained for! I just can't get enough of all the new friends she makes on the cruise - each one has such a unique personality and made me fall in love them right away! This is definitely a new favorite!

Cornerstone (Cornerstone #1) by Misty Provencher

Nalena Maxwell has been branded ‘The Waste’ at her new school, due to her mom's obsessive paper hoarding. Nalena desperately wants something to change in her life, but when she receives a sign (and it's the wrong dang one) inviting her into a mysterious, ancient community, too much changes. What she knew of her family, what she thought of her life and what she believed about her future, is no longer applicable. Seventeen years worth of family skeletons come crashing into Nalena's life and it is the boy...the one that smiles at her like he wants to hear everything she'll ever say...that already knows her powerful secrets. But it is only Nalena that can choose between protecting the life that is already crumbling beneath her feet and the one that might sacrifice everything she could ever have.

My Review
Holy Cow!! I'm gonna tell you right now, you won't be able to stop reading this series once you start! It was SO ADDICTING!! I loved Nalena from the start, simply because she was different. She managed to push through every day regardless of her embarrassment. And Garrett..mmmm...Garrett. I can't even begin to tell you how swoon-worthy he is. Even when he's being an annoying stalker. This book has everything from painful, high school angst to serious life-altering revelations. I loved every second of it and poured through it at light speed because I HAD to know every detail as quickly as possible. This series is easily a new favorite!

Inception (The Reaping Chronicles #1) by Teal Haviland

The world is in danger. Mankind is sinking deeper into darkness it cannot understand.

Demons are easily capturing souls as they lead men and women down dangerous paths from which there is no return, while Javan, one of the Fallen, seeks an ancient book and the power it promises. If he succeeds, humans — and the world as they know it — will be destroyed.

There is someone who is capable of stopping Javan . . .

If she discovers him in time.

Gabrielle is one of the most powerful angels ever created, her job one of the most important. She has come to Earth to learn more about humans and what influences them, and to fight evil she sees growing at an alarming rate. She soon finds herself carelessly distracted with one human in particular, however. Lucas Watkins holds a promise of peace and love for Gabrielle that she never believed she could have again.

As feelings between her and Lucas become more than she can deny, so do the dangers mounting against him. After discovering who Lucas is, and the choice he faces, she realizes Darkness will come for him through demons and fantastical beings he thought only existed in his imaginings — forcing fairytales to become his reality.

Caught between her new mortal ties and ancient immortal responsibilities, Gabrielle must race against what seems to be an ever-quickening clock to learn what she needs to know, protect Lucas, uncover Javan’s plan, and find a way to stop him and all who live in Shadows.

Things become more complex than she ever anticipated, her decisions more critical, and what begins as a quest for information rapidly places her in an even more crucial position within the longest and most important war ever waged.

Join Gabrielle and her allies in a story of love – past and present – fantastical beings, hidden realms, magic, fate, loss, and the fight of good versus evil.

My Review
Wow! This book was astonishingly beautiful! This paranormal world feels so real that I can almost believe it exists around us. The angels are glorious & powerful, the humans are brave & curious, and the bad guys are straight out of hell. There are stolen romantic moments that will make your heart swoon, followed by action so intense that it may stop your heart temporarily. There were also several surprises that I never could have imagined. This is definitely a story I want to hear more of. A LOT more of!

Here (Here Trilogy #1) by Ella James

Milo Mitchell's life used to be charmed, but that was before her family dissolved, she went a little crazy, and her best friends started acting more like strangers. Spending Saturday morning in a treehouse with a stun gun for company and a herd of deer for friends is the only exciting thing in her life...until she shoots a fawn and finds her dart stuck in a guy.

Her gorgeous victim is dressed in a Brioni tux and armed with a hanky. He has no idea who or where he is. Afraid her dart caused his amnesia, Milo takes him in, names him Nick, and vows to help him solve his mystery. Soon the pair find Nick's face in a newspaper obituary, and Nick beings to have strange, ethereal memories of Milo--who is sure she's never met him. Suddenly Nick knows things he shouldn't know and is doing things he shouldn't do. When the Department of Defense shows up, Nick and Milo run--toward a shocking conclusion that could destroy both their worlds.

My Review
Man, this was a good book! I love the way it was written. The parts from Milo's point of view sound like they are coming directly from a teenage mind. But she's not as typical as she seems as first, she's been through a lot but she deals well with her emotions and is braver than she ever could've imagined. Nick is so sexy and mysterious but Milo just knows that he's worth getting to know. The whole story is so intriguing from the very beginning and full of action all the way to end. I am dying to know what happens next!

Blood Rule Blog Tour!!!

Blood Rule (Dirty Blood #4)
by
Heather Hildenbrand
Forty-six.
That’s how many hybrids survived the Hunter attack in the woods after I revived them with an injection of my blood. That’s how many followed me home to Frederick Falls. And that’s how many were now mentally linked to me through a blood bond.

Two days. Three valium. Fourteen hours of sleep.
That’s what it took to realize I wasn’t losing my mind as a result of the noise in my own head.

Sixteen.
That’s how many days have passed since I almost killed Alex. That’s how many days I’ve sat by his bedside, waiting for him to wake up. To ease the guilt, to understand his betrayal, to remember the exact shade of brown in his eyes.

Zero.
That’s my chances of skating by with Gordon Steppe and the Hunter Council. They want me for questioning. I’m afraid what’ll happen if I give them answers.

My Review
Geez! I think this series is giving me heart palpitations!! Like the others in this series, this book made my emotions run wild. I was irritated, scared, angry, anxious, hopeful, and there were even a few stolen moments of love that made me swoon a little in between all the action. There really is never a dull moment in this book! Tara has grown up a lot and is slowly beginning to accept who she is. Wes is just as brooding and handsome as ever and I still just love him to pieces! #TEAMWES I have really grown to love (almost) all of the characters and am completely invested in their well-being at this point, which is why it makes me a little crazy to see how much they have to go through just to stay sane and alive. Gordon Steppe is seriously pissing me off, he's becoming even more of a sneaky, underhanded scumbag than ever before. I have to say, I think this is my favorite book in the series so far and it really makes me wanna scream that I have to wait for the next one!

He’s just in it for his cut, the ten percent of the life energy he collects before he transfers it on to the high potentials, the people who will make the world a better place with their brains, their work, and their lives. That hit of life energy, a bottle of vodka, and a visit from one of Madam Anastazja’s sex workers keep him alive, stable, and mostly sane… until he collects again. But when his recovery ritual is disrupted by a sex worker who isn’t what she seems, he has to choose between doing an illegal hit for a girl whose story has more holes than his soul or facing the bottle alone—a dark pit he’s not sure he’ll be able to climb out of again.

Lirium tries to forget Apple Girl, but a rough collection finds him spiraling deeper into the abyss. He faces a one-way ticket to The Retirement Home for debt collectors, until his psych officer offers a way out.

Lirium's attempts to find Ophelia take him to the last place he wants to be.

Ecstasy is approximately 15,000 words or 60 pages, and is the third of nine episodes in the first season of The Debt Collector serial. This dark and gritty future-noir is about a world where your life-worth is tabulated on the open market and going into debt risks a lot more than your credit rating.

Leni Drago can't make a smart decision on her own, according to her mother anyway--the few times she's tried resulted in disaster. When her uncle sends her on a dance tour in Italy to find her real self, she returns to an empty home and any evidence of his existence wiped out.
