Moonlight Mayhem (Spellbound #2) by Sherry Soule

Otherworldly Creatures. Dazzling Magic. Fiery Romance.

Shiloh Ravenwolf thought she was getting used to the strange events in Whispering Pines, until the full moon brings another surge of supernatural threats to her coastal town. Ferocious wolves, deadly necromancers, and shambling zombies have descended upon the neighborhood, so Shiloh needs to gain control of her magical abilities—fast!

It sucks that she has a crippling fear of the dark, which for a demon hunter can be an epic problem. But she spends so much time wallowing in the darkness, how can she not become a part of it?

When her classmates are attacked by a mysterious creature and her father is murdered, Shiloh vows vengeance. Forcing her phobias aside, she forms an unlikely coven of supernaturally gifted teens to help her eradicate this menace. Except that’s not all Shiloh has to worry about. She’s battling a different monster within herself and struggling not to become the very thing she fights: evil.

But with demon blood inside her—anything can happen…

My Review
Wow! Now things are really getting exciting (and maybe a little terrifying) around Whispering Pines! I liked this book even better than the first one! Now that Shiloh has discovered her roots and began fighting against evil, the whole town seems to be teeming with dangerous and intriguing new creatures. I admit, I was a little worried after that ending in Beautifully Broken, but there is still plenty of adventure and romance for Shiloh. Not to mention we get to see a whole new side of the gorgeous Trent Donovan. I am definitely hooked on this series! Can’t wait for more!

Beautifully Broken (Spellbound #1) by Sherry Soule

Thirteenth daughter. Heritage witch. Demon slayer.

They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn’t even begin to describe Whispering Pines. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch’s curse.

Sixteen-year-old Shiloh Ravenwolf is a heritage witch from the Broussard family, a family both destined and cursed. After she takes a summer job at Ravenhurst Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That’s where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan. But Trent may be the next victim on the supernatural hit list, and Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him. Complicated much?

After receiving cryptic messages from a creepy wraith and frightening threats from a demon, Shiloh finally begins to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist. Now Shiloh must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.

Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
This was a very interesting read. It was full of mystery and adventure. The witches were a unique blend of modern Wiccan and ancient witchcraft. It was quite a journey for Shiloh as she began to realize she was much more than just the town weirdo. She is definitely different from other girls, but as she begins to accept the truth she realizes she may have gifts that make her strong & powerful enough to save others from the evil that lurks around Whispering Pines. There are lots of distractions, though, and one of those comes in the form of the gorgeous Trent Donovan- the town bad boy with the fast car & sexy eyes that just happens to live in a haunted house. There are plenty of surprise twists to keep you on your toes and the ending will leave you screaming for more!

Cover Reveal!!

Hot-Diggity-Dog!!  This is one of the best covers I've seen in a long time!! I can't wait... I gotta show it to you now -

The Wild Ones
by
M. Leighton
Yowza!! Now tell me that cover doesn't completely make you want the book?!  And the best part is this book is by one of my all-time favorite ladies - M. Leighton!!  She's great at writing scenes that leave you panting & in need of a cold shower!  And you know this cover already has you wanting more!!  So here's the blurb to give you a little idea of what to expect!

Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.

Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines.  She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses.  Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.

But that was before she met Patrick Henley.

“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her.  He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her.  And Trick needs his job.  Desperately.  His family depends on him.

The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles.  At least the ones they know of.

When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome.  It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

COMING AUGUST 1, 2012

Holy Cow!! I can't wait to get to know these two!  And if you're itchin' for a little bit MORE before August 1st, you can head on over to M. Leighton's Blog for a couple of teasers & some VERY nice pictures of Trick! If you hurry, you can even cast your vote for which picture best suits Trick.  (Read the excerpts first to help you get a real feel for him & his awesomeness!)

A big THANKS to M. Leighton for letting me help with this cover reveal!!

Review & Giveaway of The Syndicate by Shelena Shorts!

OmigoshOmigoshOmigosh!! I am so excited to be able to share this book with you!  I have been a huge fan of Shelena Shorts ever since I won The Pace in a giveaway several years ago!  I fell in love with that series immediately - Wes & Sophie are both just amazing!  When I first heard that Shelena was releasing the first book in a new series I was actually a little frustrated because I was dying for more Wes & Sophie!! I had no idea that I would end up being just as hooked on the sexy Vasi by the time I was finished reading The Syndicate! And this is definitely a book that you can judge by it's cover - I mean, look at him! Isn't he just gorgeous?? He's got that hardened bad-boy look down! Anyway, let's get on with it so you can learn a little about this new book hottie & his world!

The Syndicate
by
Shelena Shorts
For centuries, the Petrescu family has been protecting society from a danger that moves among the population undetected. Eighteen-year-old Vasi Petrescu has never had a problem carrying out his duty, but, when ordered to eliminate an eighteen-year-old girl, he is immediately taken out of his comfort zone.

The Syndicate has never targeted a female before, yet somehow this one has ended up on more than one hit list. Vasi would like to find out why, but there may not be time.

Now, he'll have to decide whether or not to keep her alive even if it means going against his own family.

The action, mystery, and conspiracy in The Syndicate will take readers on an immersing journey in which decisions are not only life changing, but irreversible.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Holy Hit-List – this book was incredible!! I can’t even tell you how awesome Vasi is. He’s dark & dangerous but also a protector who is very loyal to his family. He is smart enough not to let his loyalty blind him though. He has incredible instincts and as he learns to fully trust in them he find out things that he never expected. He’s also completely taken with the girl who he is supposed to be eliminating. Riley may appear to be fragile but she is very brave when she needs to be & manages to attract a lot more than just Vasi’s attention. He realizes pretty quickly that he can’t just get rid of her, but now he feels like he should be protecting her. That will not go over well with his family, though, so whatever he decides needs to be a permanent decision. There was so much excitement & surprise in this book it was impossible to put it down! I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait for more!!

Giveaway & Review of The Intern's Tale by Shawn Keenan

Here's another great opportunity to win a very unique & entertaining book from the talented Shawn Keenan!  (Author of one of my favorites - The Buried Covenant) I think this cover is enough to spark your interest.  That's a mechomare you're seeing & I absolutely need one!  Although, I hope I don't have to live through Generex to get one...

The Intern's Tale by Shawn Keenan
By telling his corporate bosses to shove it, seventeen-year old intern Kip Pureweather may have pushed the Incorporated Realms of America into the third Dark Ages.

Kip’s first assignment away from Vassalcorp headquarters in York City sends him on mechanical horseback to the farmlands of Ohio. With feisty office-maiden Abbey Fairchild in tow, the two trade barbs as often as they do stolen glances. Just as Kip and Abbey are finding common ground, Kip learns the nature of his assignment – the foreclosure of the Fairchild farm. When faced with destroying a family to secure his future as a knight-executive, Kip defies the all-powerful corporations and changes his destiny forever.

Kip’s insubordination makes him an instant outlaw, and the only place out of the corporations’ reach is the forbidden Empty Lands north of the Realms. But the Empty Lands hold a secret the corporations have kept since the time of the Generex, a war that brought them to power and ushered in the second Dark Ages. With knowledge of an imminent threat, Kip returns for Abbey, and with the help of a slave, a mailroom clerk, a tabloid princess, and the self-proclaimed greatest-mind-of-their-time, they take a stand against the corporations and the impending destruction of their world.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Wow! This book really surprised me! I wasn’t too sure if this was my kind of story at first, but I should’ve known this author wouldn’t disappoint! This is definitely a unique story. Kind of a dystopian, set in a time when corporations have taken over & the world is being rebuilt to their specifications. They top executives have gone back to old sport of jousting to decide who is “top dog” but in this case, the horses are metal machines rather than animals. I love the mixture of old-school and futuristic things. The characters won me over immediately. Kip is a lowly but honorable intern trying to make it to the top. Abby is a quick-witted, smart-mouthed office maiden who is determined to live on her own terms. Together they make quite an interesting team! The rest of their friends are equally unique and entertaining! Altogether a great story that will keep you on your toes the whole way through!

Now for the giveaway! Yay! Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below & you are all set!  Giveaway will end at 12:00 midnight on Friday July 20 & winner will be emailed & announced on Saturday June 21.  If you just can't wait to get started on The Intern's Tale you can purchase it for only $.99 on Amazon here or on Barnes & Noble here.  And please remember to show the author your appreciation by leaving a review!  Thanks for reading!

The Burning Star by Jessie Lane
Can she reach her destiny before tragedy strikes?

The doctors have told Kay that she will die before she reaches her eighteenth birthday. Her mother’s determination to save her life leads them to a move outside of Asheville, NC to a new set of cancer specialists in the hopes to help her. But it’s not what Kay and her Mom find in the doctor’s offices in Asheville that lead them on the journey to save her before time runs out. It’s what Kay finds in the woods outside of Asheville, and an inhumanly gorgeous guy named Ryan, instead.

Myths and fairy tales come to life before Kay’s eyes, bringing her closer to the ultimate cure if she can stay alive long enough to get there. And if the cancer doesn’t kill her before she finds the cure the secrets her mother has hidden from her may be the beginning of the end.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
This was a really interesting & unique story, a great combination of some of my favorite paranormal characters. Definitely lots of excitement as Kay begins to realize everything around her is not as it seems, including her own life. I actually thought I had the story figured out a few pages in, but man I was in for a surprise! There are several good twists to keep things interesting. And there’s no shortage of paranormal hotties, either! Although it didn’t take me long to decide which one I was rooting for! Don’t wanna spoil the story for you so let’s just that this is definitely a book I would recommend & I absolutely can’t wait to see what happens next!!

CHAOS Review & Giveaway!!

Giveaway has ended.  Winner - CLAUDIA!!

I am super-duper thrilled to be part of the Blog Tour for Megan Duncan's second installment in the Agents of Evil series, Chaos!  I love this story even though it is filled with horrors & devastation because it makes the survivors even tougher & more lovable!  So here's a little bit about Chaos followed by my review & a giveaway!!

Chaos (Agents of Evil #2) by Megan Duncan

Is any shot at living, worth dying for?

They thought they’d be safe, but a world ruled by chaos doesn’t die easily.

When Max turned on the radio transmissions assuring safety, they came. But, it wasn’t just survivors of the demon apocalypse that crawled their way into the abandoned military base. A myriad of beastly demons unlike any they’ve ever seen, came as well. Abby, and her companions, struggle to survive as the evil around them grows. Desperate to endure, and to defend their fellow survivors, Abby and a squad of fierce fighters, take on a dangerous mission that has deadly consequences.

My Review
OMG- Intense doesn't even begin to describe this book!  I mean, it is basically the end of the world with demons attacking around every corner so don't expect it to be all sugar & sprinkles!! Those few shared, private moments between Abby & Max are starting to mean the world to them because they realize every kiss may be their last.  It's hard to keep hope alive among the group of survivors when every day they encounter new, more horrible kinds of demons and the demons they're used to fighting seem to be getting smarter & more organized.  But somehow, through all the devastation, they all hold onto to one another for comfort and continue to battle to save the few of them that are left.  So prepare yourself for a lot of screaming, crying, and some moments that are so beautiful they will make your heart burst!  I'm very excited (and a little scared) to find out what happens next!
