Interview with Dylan & Giveaway!!

Omigosh! Omigosh! Omigosh!  I am sooooo excited to have such a sexy, I mean special guest on the blog today!! But first things first, I just finished reading this amazing book & I really want to share my review with you....

Whisper by Heather Hildenbrand
The Cherokee believe when a person dies, their soul is reborn. Life is repeated. An endless cycle of lessons to be learned, love to be found, destiny to be fulfilled. For the past six months, in every flower, every bird, I’ve imagined my parents, relieved of their human forms.
Now, after five months at the Skye View Wellness Center, it was summer. A time for parties and friends, but that’s the last thing I want to do. So when my best friend Erin convinces me to attend a bonfire at Eagle Point, I can’t handle the crowd full of sympathetic stares or drunken class clowns who would use my tragedy as a way into my heart – or my pants. The solitude of the woods offers an escape, until I stumble upon a boy, unconscious and bleeding, his pockets stuffed not with identification but with poetry illustrating the beauty of dying. I’ve seen enough death. I will not leave this boy’s side.

Even after he wakes, when the only thing he can remember are visions of events that haven’t happened yet…

My Review
Oh Wow..I really loved this story! It was so beautiful & unique! I loved all the Cherokee traditions & rituals that were incorporated into it. Whisper is such a loving, caring soul. She suffered through a terrible tragedy but somehow finds a way to survive & help others. And Dylan, Oh Dylan.. he's just perfect. So much mystery surrounding his life, yet he's still strong & compassionate. And even though Dylan & Whisper both have experienced so much sadness, this story is one of hope that will leave your heart full & warm. This is definitely a book I will read again!

Doesn't it just sound wonderful?  Well, it is!! Especially Dylan... he is sooooo strong & dreamy... AND HERE!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS HERE FOR AN INTERVIEW!!! Ok, I'm calm.  I'm good.  I am gonna try to keep it together long enough to ask him a few questions so here we go! *sigh*

So, Dylan. Glad you could join us today. Everyone is dying for a little more detail from you. Tell us about yourself.
What do you want to know?
Well, for starters, you’re not from here,as in, this frame of time—wait, what year ARE you from?
I was born in 1833. The year after my parents settled in the valley after crossing what your people call the Trail of Tears.
And you grew up with whisper?
We were childhood friends.
Did you always love her?
Every single second from the time I was eleven years old.
Ohh, it sounds like there was a “moment!” Tell us about it!
She was eleven, and already fascinated with animals. My mother’s cat had just given birth to a litter of kittens so I brought one to her after school one day.
And? Immediate love, right?!
*chuckles* For the cat, maybe. She didn’t even see me, she was so wrapped up in that thing. It didn’t help the stupid thing was a klutz. Every time it tripped over its own paws she would rush to help it. She took to carrying it everywhere so it wouldn’t hurt itself. Ridiculous.
I tried again when I was fifteen. Copied down an old Cherokee love poem I’d found in some of my grandmother’s old letters. Slipped it into Whisper’s school book before class the day we graduated.
Wait- you graduated at fifteen?
Yeah, special privileges for the elder’s kids. Most kids had to stop school at eleven and work with their families. Anyway—she found it and read it and her eyes got real big, like huge, and she looked around. The expression on her face when she found me watching and realized … *whispers, staring off into the distance* I’ll never forget that day.
I started reading more poetry after that.
*stupid grin* *Thinks: he’s so hot!* Ahem. Do you know what the poem said? Can you recite it for us?
Oh… um… All right.
Ni-hi  A-ga-li-ha  A-da-nv  U-li-hi-li-s-di  U-gi-tsi-s-gv  Di-tsi-ga-to-li  Ka-nu-yo-la-di –a
Mmm, beautiful …*blinks, remembers where she is* Can you translate?
Sure. Something like … You are the sunshine of my heart. The joy of my dawn. My eyes become mist at the thought of your love.
*sigh* Like I said, gorgeous. Oh, uh, words. Gorgeous words. Right, so—anything else you want to tell us about yourself?
Well, one thing that has been on my mind for a few years now. I’ve been a little preoccupied, what with keeping Taregan away from Whisper, but I’d really love to know where you can buy a really good tomahawk anymore.
A tomahawk?? Uh, I’m pretty sure peeps stopped using those when um, axes, were invented. And also manners. What do you need a tomahawk for?
Taregan’s out there, along with all of the other dangers your society has to offer, so you never know. And I will not let anything happen to Whisper. EVER.  I protect what’s mine.
Right, got that. But I really can’t help you with a tomahawk, sorry. Thanks again for stopping by, Dylan. We love any chance to get to know you better. Feel free to stop by again anytime!

Omigosh!! Deep breaths....Wow!  He is absolutely amazing, isn't he? And since we can never have too much Dylan, here is the gorgeous new button that Heather has made just for our drooling pleasure!

My Review
Wow! This story just keeps getting better and better! There's never a dull moment as Cat realized she's only begun to uncover the secrets surrounding her. Some of the surprises I kinda saw coming, while others caught me completely off guard! Cat is starting to get a better grasp on who she is & now it's time to decide who she can really trust with the truth. The loyalty from some of her friends is actually pretty amazing! Things really started getting shook up in the book, though, so I will be very impatiently waiting to find out what happens next!

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1) by Julie Kagawa

In a future world, Vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity.

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.

Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked—and given the ultimate choice. Die… or become one of the monsters.

Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.

Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend—a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.

But it isn't easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what—and who—is worth dying for.

My Review
Oh Wow! Julie Kagawa has created another brilliant world that I just can’t get enough of! I love Allie & it was so addicting to see the way her view of the world changes as she has to learn a whole new way of life. She has had to deal with so much pain & betrayal, but somehow she is still able to love even the most unlikely people. Zeke is also immensely compassionate, even after suffering through so much. He’s extremely patient & somehow always manages to see the best in everyone. I also really intrigued by Kanin, he’s so dark & mysterious. I am so anxious to learn more about him & his past. I am definitely hooked & will be eagerly awaiting more of this series!

Fragile by M. Leighton

Her heart, as delicate as glass. His love, as strong as steel. Can either survive life and death?

Hardy Bradford is an eighteen year old football phenomenon who has the girl, the school, the town and the future in the palm of his hand. His life is all mapped out for him, right down to who he’ll marry and how he’ll become a professional football player. It doesn't seem to matter that Hardy would’ve chosen a much different life if it was up to him. But it's not. At least not until his Miracle comes along.

The first time Hardy laid eyes on Miracle St. James, he didn’t know who she was, but he knew she was something different and that he’d never get her out of his head. And he didn’t. Now, months later, Hardy’s world is turned upside down when Miracle shows up in his class, stealing his heart and forever changing the course of his life.

Miracle’s sick. Very sick. And Hardy might be losing the only thing in his life that has ever mattered. How much is too much to sacrifice for the one you love? For just a little more time? For just one more chance? Can Hardy be the hero Miracle needs? Or is it Hardy that needs saving?

My Review
Wow! This was such a beautiful story! I usually don't even pick up books that aren't paranormal but I really loved this. It had some sad & intense moments that will bring tears to your eyes, but then some amazing & romantic moments that fill your heart with love. Seeing the way Miracle looks at the world makes you appreciate the things around you & the simple joy of life. We all need a reminder sometimes to take some risks & live life to the fullest. This book actually left me filled me with hope & joy!

Predestined (Existence Trilogy #2) by Abbi Glines

You would think after helping save her boyfriend from an eternity in Hell that things would go back to normal. Well, as normal as life can be when you can see souls and your boyfriend is Death. But for Pagan Moore, things are just getting weirder.

The high school quarterback and reigning heartthrob, Leif Montgomery, is missing. While the town is in a frenzy of worry, Pagan is a nervous wreck for other reasons. Apparently good ‘ol Leif isn’t your average teenage boy. He isn’t even human. According to Death, Leif doesn’t have a soul. The quarterback may have skipped town but he’s still showing up in Pagan’s dreams... uninvited.

Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Oh my Dankmar! This was just… it was so… I mean.. geez! I start thinking about Dank and I can’t even form a coherent sentence!! How I would love to hear that low, sexy growl of his in my ear! I think it’s understandable that Death might be a little protective of the girl he falls in love with after so many years alone. And Pagan is just amazing – how else would she have been able to melt Death’s cold heart & make him hers? She is one of the few heroines that actually deserve the love & attention of the smokin’ hot bad-boy! I love that they are both willing to make so many sacrifices for each other & fight against whatever comes their way to be together. I will be counting the days until I can get my hands on Ceaseless!
