One hour to rewrite the past . . .
For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back. So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.
Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?

My Review ❈❈❈❈❈
Loved it!! This was one of those books that reels you in right from the beginning & you never want to put it down! It was really fast paced & shocking as it moved from simply seeing ghosts into something much more involved and intriguing! I loved Emerson because she was so real. She had experienced some truly horrible things in her past & she dealt with them like a normal person would - by losing her mind! But she managed to get past that & start rebuilding her life & trying to figure out why she could see things that others couldn't. Then you have Michael; he really seems almost too good to be true. But of course he does have a few of those pain-in-butt qualities that so many of the great ones have, like trying to protect Emerson from things that he isn't willing to share with her. Their connection is so electric & strong it definitely keeps your heart racing. I am thrilled to see what comes next for them! |
