Allegiance Blog Tour!!

Allegiance (Causal Enchantment #3)
 by
K.A. Tucker

Evangeline finally got what she longed for—the cursed pendant off her neck and Caden in her arms—only it came at a steep price. An unknown poison now courses through her body, slowly morphing her into something no one but the Fates can foresee. She has her suspicions, though...and if she is right, it will spell certain ruin for her and Caden. But she won’t last long enough to realize that, if Viggo and Mortimer uncover the treasonous secrets she keeps from them– that Veronique, no longer entombed, is now in the torturous clutches of the witches and the People’s Sentinel, or that she is protecting a Sentinel within their very midst.

Always the naive human caught in the vampires’ web of deceit, Evangeline is now weaving her own dangerous web so she can keep her friend alive, rescue Veronique, and stop a seemingly inevitable war from erupting. But can her honor handle the depths of duplicity to which she must descend, in order to be in league with the vampires?

Dark and gripping, riddled with angst, Allegiance will have readers anxiously turning pages to find out if Evangeline can survive, or if she’ll spiral into disaster.

My Review
Wow! That was amazing and exhausting! So intense I felt like I was going to explode with all the secrets Eve was trying to keep held in. It is so frustrating that she and Caden just can’t seem to catch a break. They have both gone through so much to be together and there always seems to be something else waiting to sabotage their relationship. The moments they have together are loving and beautiful, but it tears my heart out that they can’t just be together with no problems and no secrets. It was hard to remain faithful in Sophie, too. I know she loves Eve and would do anything for her, but she just seems to be very unlucky with it comes to the Fates. And everyone around her shares in that bad luck. I worry that she is going to lose her mind very soon! I will see this group through to the end, though, Iove them all dearly. (Well, everyone except Viggo, I still think he’s a jackass.)

Born in small-town Ontario, Kathleen published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons. She is a voracious reader and the farthest thing from a genre-snob, loving everything from High Fantasy to Chick Lit. Kathleen currently resides in a quaint small town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.

Special Content!!

Hello and thanks to Sated Faery for hosting me today! For today's stop, you're getting a quick sneak peek at what goes on inside Lilly's head the moment she meets Evangeline. I've tried to keep it spoiler-free for those of you who haven't read Allegiance yet :D  Enjoy!

My fingernails cut through the flesh of my palms as I watched Viggo stroll into the room, his smug blue eyes settling on me. Aside from my clenched fists, I was careful to suppress all indication that the sight of him still set my insides on fire, even after a century.
But he knew. Oh, Viggo knew how much I despised him. How I waited for the chance to devastate him.
Now here I was, standing before the demon, summoned by that redheaded walking disaster. Whatever the reason for bringing me to Paris, it had to be serious because Sofie wasn't stupid. I may possess a child's body but I could gut my enemies with the best of them.
A door creaked open. All eyes flew to observe a giant black dog saunter in. I had to admit, the beast was kind of cute. I heard those things could communicate telepathically with their masters. I had thought about creating my own at one time...
My desire for a pet werebeast quickly vanished as a human crept in behind it, her arms hugging her chest as she stumbled forward. I reached out to sense her emotional wavelengths. Interesting...  She seemed afflicted with the same aura around her that floated around that guy in the corner, keeping me from reading either of their emotions. What had Sofie done to them?
And why would she bring humans here?  The second this meeting went sideways, which it would, those two were dead. Sofie had to know that. Unless she's baiting us... I'll kill the girl quick before I exit through that window over there so as to avoid any traps, I decided.
When the male vampire with messy brown hair and jade eyes latched onto her, a flash of warmth and love broke through that muddle surrounding her like tiny streams of sunlight. He's important to her. That makes her an excellent target. Good to know...
Now curious to see what else the girl might reveal, I continued to watch her. What I saw next made me grit my teeth to keep from showing my surprise. The girl's gaze drifted over to Viggo and a second burst of emotion exploded from her, this one black and ugly and full of loathing.
She hated and feared Viggo as much as I did.
 Maybe I won't kill her.
