The Iron Quill (The Pace Series #3) by Shelena Shorts

With Weston's self-imposed forty-eight hour deadline having already lapsed, Sophie's patience is pushed to the max—especially with her realization that his concern is not for his own well-being, but for hers.

Just when they embrace a reconnection, she'll learn that her greatest threat is not necessarily something that might happen in the future, but something that’s happening… right now. And this time, Sophie and Wes will need the help of more than one person to fix it—even if it means giving up his secret.

With time forever moving, and the dark cloud at its lowest, the third book in the Pace Series stays true to its signature grace and determination as Sophie and Weston take the biggest detour so far.

My Review ☺☺☺☺☺

Looooooved it! This book starts out frantic as Sophie waits for Wes's return and the excitement continues all the way to end! Just like the other books in the series it has a perfect blend of nail-biting action and tender romance. Weston & Sophie are just beautiful together! Fate continues to push them together and pull them apart at the the same time, but they fight for each other the whole way. I'm very exited and anxious for the next book to find out just how their story will end.

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey #4) by Julie Kagawa

Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My Review ☺☺☺☺☺
Wow. An absolutely amazing end to one of the best stories ever written.
This beautiful finale joins Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn and Robin Goodfellow (aka Puck) as they embark on a journey to end of the world, joined by our favorite finicky feline, Grimalkin. The three characters that we have never been able to get enough of in the first books have been forced together on this journey to get Ash a soul. And of course, they nearly drive each other insane the whole time. Which is hugely entertaining to read about, even though there may be times when you wanna smack each of them upside the head for being stupid, annoying, or a know-it-all cat. And some of the creatures they meet on their journey definitely add to the chaos.
This was an emotionally exhausting book to read! There were many times I had to read through tears (some happy, some sad), several times I yelled, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and cussed at it, and other times that I was biting my nails terrified of what might happen next. But that all made for the absolute perfect ending to this incredible story! I am so sad to see this series come to an end, but I am also thrilled to know a little more about the Ice Prince & see the lengths he would go to for his love & his friends.

My Review
Wow - now we really get into the story! We know why Krista & Mark (and the others) have this unique, strong connection & now it's time to put it to the test! This book was a perfect blend of action & romance, my heart was racing constantly from one or the other. Some chapters ended with me feeling peaceful and happy, some scared to turn the page, and some left me in tears. I loved the addition of new characters as well, they helped give insight to story and hope for the future. Now I will be ANXIOUSLY awaiting the next book to see what lies ahead...

In exchange, she requires Jacob to train as a Soulkeeper, a warrior charged with protecting human souls.

My review  ☺☺☺☺☺

First of all, this cover is just yummy! I totally bought this book because I just had to know this guy! And I was not disappointed, Jacob is every bit as mysterious and tantalizing as he appears. This book has everything I love - high school drama, supernatural catastrophies, romance, internal struggles, a brilliant feline, lots of action & suspense, and the intriguing story behind the Soulkeepers. I loved the characters and was drawn deep into the story. I can't wait to read more about Jacob's journey in the next installment.

The Buried Covenant by Shawn Keenan

Being hardheaded is a common character flaw, but most teenagers can’t crack a concrete curb with their skull. And while a skilled skateboarder appears to defy gravity, he can’t keep water from pouring out of an upturned cup. Unintentionally tapping into latent powers has brought Jayke Wolff to the attention of the Aduro, an ancient society plotting an apocalyptic new world order. He’s now their number one draft pick, and they’ve dispatched their most seductive member to close the deal. It shouldn’t take much convincing a hormonal teenage boy to turn his back on a cryptic covenant for a future of self-indulgence and unchecked power. But if Jayke can’t be tempted by pleasures of the flesh, the flesh can be influenced in less pleasant ways as well. Armageddon can’t wait forever. Killing Jayke will also work.
Not remembering your past and not believing in your future can make it hard to choose who you’re going to be. Jayke has to decide how much of his teenage life he’s willing to sacrifice for a greater good. After all, you’re only young once.

My Review  ☺☺☺☺☺

Wow! This was a completely amazing book! The first few pages had me hooked.  I was intrigued by the mystery surrounding the main character, Jayke Wolff, through the first part of the book. Then finding out the truth about his particular abilities and memory loss was simply amazing! This is a great mixture of awkward teenage boy & amazing supernatural adventures. This book is very different from any other paranormal book I've read - a completely unique story! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Meant to Be (The Saving Angels #1) by Tiffany King

Krista Miller feels like she has lived her entire life in a glass box with her every emotion on display. She can’t help feeling like a defect as her sensitivities have made her socially inept and without any real friends; the one exception being the boy that visits her each night in her dreams.

Krista’s emotions are put to the test when a move to California triggers a devastating change to her fantasy world. The nightly comfort that the boy provides has now become a recurring nightmare as he is taken from her by an unseen force.

Struggling to appear normal, Krista enrolls in a new school and finds it to be nothing like she thought. Her new life is sent spiraling out of control from a strange connection with a boy, Mark, who claims to know all her secrets.

As Krista begins to explore the emotions that Mark evokes in her, secrets about their mysterious past and their predestined purpose threatens to separate them just when they have found each other.

My Review

Wow - this book really surprised me! Of all things, I was not expecting THAT! (THAT which I cannot tell you or you won't get the thrill of the surprise!) Anyway, lots of romance, but along with that came the frustration of waiting to see what was gonna happen, because you know the story's not just gonna be all kissing and hot chocolate! And once the action picks up, you'll wish for more walking along the beach because it gets crazy fast! This is a series that I think will get better & better with each book - I can't wait for the next one!

Loramendi's Story (A Lords of Shifters Novel) by Angela Carlie

Lora wants nothing more than to be the wind behind sexy windsurfer Chance's sails. But fulfilling that wish just became...complicated. After seventeen years of normal life, someone wants Lora and her family dead. And the attempted massacre isn't nearly as strange as the reason behind it.
synopsis courtesy of Goodreads

My Review ☺☺☺☺

This was such a beautiful story!! I expected the shapeshifters, but was pleased to find such a fairy tale quality to the book. Don't get me wrong, it's not all kissing on the beach - there is plenty of action, too! Lora is a very relate-able, down-to-earth girl who doesn't really believe in myth & magic. But Chance is the perfect prince to help convince her! Even the creepy bad guys have a certain mystery about them that makes me very curious to read more! My only wish is that it would've been a little longer!
