Release (The Protector #3)
by
 M.R. Merrick

After uniting the shifters and calling in reinforcements, Chase has to face his toughest challenge yet: learning to control his emotions. But as tensions rise and his powers grow, controlling his emotions becomes the least of his problems.

Terrorized by a multi-shifter who is hell-bent on turning him, Chase questions just how far he’s willing to go to stop his father.  Meanwhile, Tiki’s virtuous nature has placed him in the middle of Vincent’s past, leaving Chase to oppose a senate of vampires and defend a demon he hates.

Trying to balance his friends, his enemies, and his inner demons, Chase is left searching for answers about the Mark, his destiny, and where he can find the next soul piece. Stopping Riley is his top priority, but as more obstacles arise, he finds himself doubting all the decisions he’s made - especially regarding Rayna.
One thing is for certain: Chase has finally realized that he doesn’t know anything. The light doesn’t always quell the darkness, the monsters don’t always stay in the shadows, and the past doesn’t always stay in the past - sometimes, the demons inside are the hardest to fight.

Out Of The Dark (The Grey Wolves #4) by Quinn Loftis

Darkness has descended on the Transylvanian Alps.
Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf's assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.

Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form...

Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that's been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years.

My Review
Wow! Still absolutely loving this series! This was definitely more intense than the others as they delve deeper into new lands and new relationships. As always, there is a surprise around every corner that will leave your mouth hanging open. And some of those will bring a few tears, too. (ok, maybe more than a few.) I am constantly amazed at how much love is in this pack! The loyalty between all the pack members is so strong and the bond between mates is just magical and is sometimes the only thing that keeps hope alive during the terrible events they face. The story gets even better as we get to know more members of the pack a little better and learn more about the pack’s origins. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Just One Drop (The Grey Wolves #3) by Quinn Loftis

Jennifer Adams, best friend to Jacque Pierce and Sally Morgan, spicy, out spoken, a little crazy and human...or so she thought. Jen has just found out that human DNA is not the only thing that resides in her veins, she happens to share that little pesky werewolf gene, although it isn't more than just a drop. Now that she and her friends are living in Romania with Fane's pack, she is also oh so conveniently stuck with the object of her affection, the fur ball Decebel.

Drawn to each other by something they don't understand Jen finds herself frustrated by the lack of mating signs between her and said fur ball. Not only is she dealing with that not so un-frustrating problem, she now has been informed that because of that little drop of werewolf blood in her she is now required to attended a multi-pack gathering for un-mated wolves. This type of gathering hasn't taken place in over a century but with a shortage of females among the werewolf population the males are getting worried they won't ever find their true mates.

Meanwhile Decebel struggles with the emotions he is feeling towards Jen. He tries to keep his distance but there is just something about the mouthy blonde that keeps him coming back for more of her verbal abuse that he just can't seem to get enough of...go figure.

My Review
Wow! Have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE this series? Although Fane is still “Top Dog” for me, Decebel is certainly one gigantic piece of man-candy! Especially when he’s being a big ole grump, which is *97.9% of the time. It was really cool to get a little more of the story from different perspectives and find out what’s going on in their lives, but still keep Fane & Jacque in the middle of the action, too. It just wouldn’t be the same without Fane. And Jacque, Jen, & Sally are the triple threat- they keep me laughing through the whole book! I loved being able to get inside Jen’s deranged mind a little bit. I am dying to see what’s next for the Grey Wolves!

Blood Rites (The Grey Wolves #2) by Quinn Loftis

With the challenge complete and the corrupt Alpha of Coldspring defeated Fane is now free to complete the mate bond with Jacque and perform the Blood Rites. Although the challenge is done, the affects are far reaching. Once it is known that Vasile, one of the strongest Alphas in the world is in America, specifically Coldspring, TX, there is one Alpha who cannot over look the significance of this. An Alpha who happens to share Jacque's DNA, but is this the one she needs to fear?

With her mom driving and her two best friends, Jen and Sally in tow, Jacque sets off for her happily ever after. She will soon realize a plan has been put in motion that will change her course and possibly tear her from Fane's grasp forever. It will take a wolf pack, her mother's love, her two best friend's unrelenting determination, her own will to survive and the undying love of her mate to bring her home. The question remains, if she fights, if she endures, who will she be, what will be left once she is back in her mates arms?

My Review
Wow!! I finished this book in one sitting because there was just never a point where I could stop reading. The intense action starts at the very beginning and never really lets up! Fane and Jacques are still just amazing together and will go to any length to prove their love. Every scene between them just fills my heart with warmth. And just when you think Jen and Sally can't possibly get any snarkier, they somehow manage it! I just love those two! I also loved getting to know some of the other grey wolves. They definitely add a little spice to the mix. So basically I'm saying, I LOVED IT! Now I gotta go get started on book #3. ;)

Prince of Wolves (The Grey Wolves #1) by Quinn Loftis

Jaque Pierce was just an ordinary 17 year old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer was going to get a lot more interesting. From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul. The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Oh Holy Romanian Werewolves!! This book was so freakin’ good! I’ll admit werewolves have never been my favorite; I’m not really a “dog person”. But when they are as sexy as Fane and speak with a Romanian accent, I am hooked! Not to mention he has impeccable manners that are almost unheard of these days. Whew, I’m getting a little light-headed just thinking about Fane so I better move on. Jacque is just awesome. She’s got quite a mouth on her and doesn’t take crap from anybody. And her two best friends had me laughing through the whole book! They are all fiercely loyal and true. They stand by each other through anything, no matter how crazy the situation gets. I could go on and on about the things I loved but honestly I am dying to get started on the next book in this series so you will just have to read it & see how awesome it is! And put aside a few hours because you won’t be able to stop once you get started!

Revolution (Collide #4) by Shelly Crane

In the fourth and final installment, everything is on the line. Merrick's life is in the balance and Lily is their only hope. Ellie and her new powers are miraculous, but also problematic; if she's with the bunker family, they won't be able to sense when the Lighters are there. There are many new members to the bunker and sparks will fly, and with the food shortage, they will all have plenty to deal with. Miguel is intrigued with Rylee, her past and her spunk. Ryan and Elli are barely scratching the surface of their relationship. Cain and Lillian will have to deal with Daniel, who has no qualms about showing his true feelings for her. And Sherry and Merrick…what will happen to this happenstance family who have worked so hard to come together? Can they all survive? Can they all withstand the new enemy that is right outside their door? Can they beat the Lighters, once and for all…
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Whoa! What a trip! I can’t believe this out-of-this-world series has come to an end. I have really grown attached to the Keepers! This was a pretty stressful book, too. The enemy keeps getting stronger and you just know something big is going to happen at any moment! This poor little family of rebels has already been through so much, it’s amazing that they have stayed so strong. Every time one of them walked out the door I was worried that they would not return. Sherry & Merrick are so amazing, they helped the group learn to love and survive no matter who or what was against them. This book really gave me a great appreciation for all the things I might take for granted, too – like beds, doors, food, and family. (Of course, it also made me start checking for the moon every night to make sure it’s up there like it’s supposed to be!) This will always be one of my favorite series!

Blood Bond Blog Tour & Giveaway!!

Yay!  I am thrilled to be a part of the Blood Bond Blog Tour for Heather Hildenbrand's latest in the Dirty Blood Series.  First, let's take a look at the book and my review.

Blood Bond (Dirty Blood #3)
by
Heather Hildenbrand

Hybrids.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.

Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Man, the action never stops in this series! Every time Tara & Wes manage to conquer their problem, an even bigger one is right behind it. Never a dull moment! I liked this book because Tara was finally back at home with all my favorite people, especially Wes. Although, there were still a couple of times that I wanted to smack her upside the head for not appreciating what she had, but I still love that she has such a big heart & cares so much for everyone around her whether they really deserve it or not. I loved learning more about the hybrids in this book, too. And we get a meet a few new people, some I could definitely do without, but one slightly unstable one that I absolutely love! Once again I’m left ripping my hair out while I wait for the next book!

Now I have something very special for you.  Although, I am warning you ahead of time that it may be kind of spoilery, as it pertains to the second part of the book.  So you may want to wait until after you have read the book to read this. (If you wanna skip it, just scroll on down to the Rafflecopter to enter the giveaway.) For those of you who couldn't wait... here is a letter from Grandma Edie to Alex.

Alex—
I understand your hesitation. You are a loyal Hunter. One of the most loyal I’ve ever known but consider this: your purpose is to protect. Humans.Fellow Hunters. Those in danger from monsters. Unfortunately for us, in this case, this means we must protect against our own kind. Steppe has gone too far.
I know you heard about the Lexingtons being taken into CHAS custody. I’ve just been informed that Steppe has ordered their release. He has inserted a tracking device and plans to use them as bait for the hybrids. When found, he will kill them all.
Normally, I wouldn’t disagree as the hybrids obviously pose a threat, but it is wrong to make the Lexingtons so disposable. They’ve done nothing wrong. They’ve retained enough of their humanity—they are capable of willpower. They pleaded for asylum and Steppe is throwing them out on their ear. Kane’s orders—your orders—are to kill on sight.
This is wrong and you know it. Steppe has taken his power too far.
If you won’t accept my offer based on my word, then do it based on Kane’s orders. His next assignment to you will be to track the Lexingtons and as soon as they’ve led you to the hybrids, to kill them. Even if they do not fight back. I’ll let you decide for yourself if that is right.
I know you are a soldier first, but I cannot do this alone. You have been there when I needed you most. And if I am right, I am not the only member of my family who will need you before this is over. Steppe will go after anyone with wolf blood. We both know where that could lead. If you choose to work with me, call me at the number I gave you. And burn this letter.
-Edie Godfrey

Hmmm... that gives us a little insight.  And I have to admit, Grandma Edie is one of my favorite people!  Don't let this post fool you, though, I am Team Wes all the way!! ;)
