Wilde's Army (Darkness Falls #2) by Krystal Wade

“Hello, Katriona.”

Those two words spark fear in Katriona Wilde and give way to an unlikely partnership with Perth, the man she’s been traded to marry for a favor. Saving her true love and protector Arland, her family, and their soldiers keeps her motivated, but the at-odds duo soon realizes trust is something that comes and goes with each breath of Encardia’s rotting, stagnant air. The moment when concern for her missing sister spirals out of control, all thoughts of trust are pushed aside and she finds herself trapped by the daemon tricks Perth warned her of.

However, rescuing those she loves is only half the problem.

Kate still must get to Willow Falls, unite her clashing people, and form an army prepared to fight in order to defeat Darkness. When so many she’s grown fond of die along the journey, her ability to play by the gods’ rules is tested.

How will she make allies when the world appears stacked against her? And will she still be Katriona Wilde, the girl with fire?

My Review
Wow! So much excitement!! It seems like there was trouble around corner, I never knew what to expect! And how on earth do you figure out who to trust after all this madness? Kate is left with no choice but to trust the one person who seems to be the most un-trustworthy. Plus the terror of not knowing what is happening to Arland & all of her friends & family. The action starts right at the beginning and never seems to cease! While there are some beautiful, romantic, electric moments that will leave you breathless, there is also plenty of doubt, fear, lying, pretending, and running from daemons to keep you reading straight through to the end! Katriona is just amazing and I can't wait to see what is next for her and the rest of Encardia!

Timepiece (Hourglass #2) by Myra McEntire

A threat from the past could destroy the future. And the clock is ticking...

Kaleb Ballard's relentless flirting is interrupted when Jack Landers, the man who tried to murder his father, timeslips in and attacks before disappearing just as quickly. But Kaleb has never before been able to see time travelers, unlike many of his friends associated with the mysterious Hourglass organization. Are Kaleb's powers expanding, or is something very wrong?

Then the Hourglass is issued an ultimatum. Either they find Jack and the research he's stolen on the time gene, or time will be altered with devastating results.

Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their unusual powers to find Jack. But where do they even start? And when? And even if they succeed, it may not be enough...

The follow-up to Hourglass, Timepiece blends the paranormal, science fiction, mystery, and suspense genres into a nonstop thrill ride where every second counts.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Still loving this series! This book was a bit of twist because it's more about Kaleb & his point of view. You remember Kaleb, the sexy bad-boy that you just knew had a heart of gold underneath all that ego. Well now we get to find out what he's really made of! But don't worry, Micheal & Emerson are still a huge part of the story & their love is still literally making sparks! The world is crumbling around them thanks to all the time-travel & now not only are the rips getting bigger but more people can see them. Something has to be done fast! It's amazing how quickly the action erupts & just keeps getting more intense as the story goes on! I'm really growing to love all the Hourglass refugees & can't wait to see what happens for them next!

Hourglass (Hourglass #1) by Myra McEntire

One hour to rewrite the past . . .

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back. So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.

Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Loved it!! This was one of those books that reels you in right from the beginning & you never want to put it down! It was really fast paced & shocking as it moved from simply seeing ghosts into something much more involved and intriguing! I loved Emerson because she was so real. She had experienced some truly horrible things in her past & she dealt with them like a normal person would - by losing her mind! But she managed to get past that & start rebuilding her life & trying to figure out why she could see things that others couldn't. Then you have Michael; he really seems almost too good to be true. But of course he does have a few of those pain-in-butt qualities that so many of the great ones have, like trying to protect Emerson from things that he isn't willing to share with her. Their connection is so electric & strong it definitely keeps your heart racing. I am thrilled to see what comes next for them!

Blood Bond - Cover Reveal!!

I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the cover reveal for Heather Hildenbrand's newest book in the Dirty Blood series ~ Blood Bond!! Now let's take a look at this beauty!

Hybrids.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.

Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.

Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John.

****

Look for Blood Bond, book 3 in the Dirty Blood series, by Heather Hildenbrand, August 31st!

Thank you Heather Hildenbrand for sharing this gorgeous cover & getting us pumped up for more!

Wilde's Fire (Darkness Falls #1) by Krystal Wade

“There is no pain in this death, only peace, knowing I am going to die with the one I love the most.”—Katriona Wilde.

Katriona Wilde has never wondered what it would feel like to have everything she’s ever known and loved ripped away, but she is about to find out. When she inadvertently leads her sister and best friend through a portal into a world she’s dreamed of for six years, she finds herself faced with more than just the frightening creatures in front of her.

Kate’s forced to accept a new truth: her entire life has been a lie, and those closest to her have betrayed her. What’s worse, she has no control over her new future, and it’s full of magic and horrors from which nightmares are made.

Will Kate discover and learn to control who she really is in time to save the ones she loves, or will all be lost?
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Wow! This was such a good book! One minute you're in the middle of basic teen drama, the next minute you're in a whole new world with darkness, war, and other unimaginable horrors! Kate is amazing! She is brave and open-minded, not to mention loyal & caring. Arland is absolutely dashing as an other-worldly leader & warrior with a great heart underneath. This was such a unique & refreshing story & I cannot wait to find out what happens next!!

Endure (Need #4) by Carrie Jones

It’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.

Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .

Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Wow! What an ending!! Definitely LOTS of action for Zara and the gang. Tensions are high as they try to fight against the bad pixies, and the other bad pixies, and possibly some more bad pixies, and maybe even the end of the world. Plus they are all still adjusting to being alive or human or pixie or whatever else and being able to accept each other no matter what. Although there were many times that I wanted to scream at Zara to make sure she made the right decision, in the end she proves herself to be a brave, loyal queen to all those around her. I absolutely love the entire Need series!

Madly & the Jackal (Madly #3) by M. Leighton

How deep does love run? Deeper than the ocean? Deeper than memory? Deeper than magic?

Following their plan to save Atlas, Madly and Jackson return the spirit of Wolfhardt to his prison beneath the sea. But even the best laid plans couldn’t account for the surprises they find. This time, Lore aren’t their only challenges.

Madly is special in ways no one could have guessed and dark forces seek to control her. They want her power, but first they must weaken her. They need her beaten. Vulnerable. Near death. And alone. But that task isn’t an easy one with Jackson at her side. The strongest of their kind, the only way to separate Jackson from Madly is to destroy his love for her, to erase it from his mind. And his heart.

Is it possible to steal Jackson’s love from Madly? Or is their love the only truly unbreakable thing?
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
Wow! What a perfect blend of nonstop action and steamy romance! I love seeing this new passionate, loving side of Jackson instead of the constant struggle not to be a jackass trying to fight off his feelings for Madly. Just thinking about some of those hot scenes between the two of them makes me a little weak in the knees. Madly has grown so much since the beginning of the story, she is so much stronger with Jackson by her side. I am amazed at what they can accomplish together. Being a couple is not all peaches and cream for them of course, the Lore are still out there causing all kinds of trouble along with a terrifying secret weapon they have at their disposal. Although there were several parts that had me screaming (good and bad) ultimately I’m just left screaming for more!
