by Heather Self

Stranded on Earth four thousand years they’ve waited for the arrival of the One: some to save her, others to kill her. Seventeen-year-old Eveline has lived her entire life on the move and she hates it. She knows her parents believe she’s the One, and they've done whatever it takes to stay one step ahead of those who want her dead. But Eveline isn't fully convinced that her parents' beliefs match her own. What she does believe is that Leadville, Colorado may be the chance she's been waiting for. Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting asThe Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel.

My Review
Woah! This book was good This book was freakin' awesome! It's written in a very unique style, which takes some getting used to, but is perfect for getting a feel for what goes on in Juliette's head. After the life she's had, she has to be at least a little crazy! And the way it's written portrays her thought process very well. She's really very intense & even though she has a great power within her, she is still very loving & fragile. Some of the things she has to go through will make you feel completely desperate while others will have you so full of hope that you're bursting. Prepare to have your emotions twisted into a pretzel and then stomped on. But it will be totally worth it! I am so excited to read more of this story!!

With her boyfriend, Daniel, stuck in wolf form and Sirhan's death approaching, time is running out for Grace to stop Caleb Kalbi and his gang of demons. If she fails, her family and hometown will perish. Everything rests on Grace's shoulders.

The final installment in The Dark Divine trilogy brings Daniel and Grace's love story to a breathtaking conclusion.

My Review
Wow! What an intense & beautiful ending to the series! Grace & Daniel both grew to be even more amazing as the story progressed. They both have such a strong bond of self-sacrificing love. I was awed at the lengths they go to to protect each other & the ones they love. I was almost overwhelmed by all the problems that got thrown at them in this book; attacks around every corner, not knowing who they can & can't trust, & fighting against their inner demons the whole time. I could barely stand to put it down until I was finished & I definitely could not have ask for a better finale!

Cover Reveal!!

Whisper
by
 Heather Hildenbrand

The Cherokee believe when a person dies, their soul is reborn. Life is repeated. An endless cycle of lessons to be learned, love to be found, destiny to be fulfilled. For the past six months, in every flower, every bird, I’ve imagined my parents, relieved of their human forms.

Now, after five months at the Skye View Wellness Center, it was summer, a time for parties and friends, but that’s the last thing I want to do.  So when my best friend Erin convinces me to attend a bonfire at Eagle Point, I can’t handle the crowd full of sympathetic stares or drunk class clowns who would use my tragedy as a way into my heart – or my pants. The solitude of the woods offers an escape, until I stumble upon a boy, unconscious and bleeding, his pockets stuffed not with identification but with poetry illustrating the beauty of dying. I’ve seen enough death. I will not leave this boy’s side.

Even after he wakes, when the only thing he can remember are visions of events that haven’t happened yet …

Wow!  I'm already hooked- this sounds so good!

Defiance (Significance #3) by Shelly Crane

In the third installment of the Significance series, we begin with Maggie and Caleb in the clutches of a new enemy; the Virtuoso council. Not only do they have to deal with the consequences of taking the lives of the Watsons and the council attempting to take Maggie away to keep their precious Visionary safe, but they must deal with Marla as well. All are determined to undermine, control and use Caleb and Maggie's rare gifts for their own uses, some wish to destroy them entirely. Then Maggie's father and Bish are threatened but the council forbids the presense of humans. Peter and the family fight and stand beside them every step of the way to save Maggie's father, to keep Caleb and Maggie together when the corrupted council is so set on keeping them apart and to stop Marla and whatever she has up her sleeve. Then Maggie has the shock of her life when she discovers something about her real father. It may change everything for everyone. Stay tuned as the story continues.

My Review
Wow! The more I read about the Jacobsons, the more I grow to love them all! Caleb & Maggie just give you the warm-fuzzies every time they're together. Their love is so strong & binding, yet still new & fun at the same time. Even though the bad guys keep getting worse, they stand together with their family & fight anyone who comes against them. This story had action around every corner & plenty of danger & mystery to keep things exciting & intense. I enjoyed getting to meet so many more Aces in this one, too. Some that I loved & some that I absolutely hated immediately. One thing they should all learn, is that it's never a good thing to try to keep Caleb & Maggie apart - with a bond like theirs, they will go to any extreme to be side by side. I absolutely love them!

Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
What a great book! A very different & unique storyline - kind of mixes the Greek gods with demon-hunting! Definitely chock full of excitement, whether it's running from daimons, dealing with the covenant, or training with a gorgeous-but-off-limits Sentinal, there is never a dull moment. Alex is a strong & very determined young lady & is forced to grow up rather quickly after facing a horrible tragedy. She still sometimes lets her emotions get the better of her, though, getting her into situations where she finds out who she can really trust & who really cares about her. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
HOLY HAWT ALIENS!!! This book was so freakin' good!! I don't even know where to begin... let's start with Daemon. He's a gorgeous, arrogant, sexy, condescending, smoking-hot, jerk-face. Seriously, he'd be the perfect specimen if you put duct tape over his mouth. And Katy is amazing! She's strong-willed & independent, & the best part is- she's one of us! (And no, I don't mean human) She's a book-loving blogger-extraordinaire!! How cool is that? But none of her books have prepared her for living next door to a smoking hot alien jackass! This book was packed with action & mystery. But it also made me laugh out loud at some of the strained confrontations between Daemon & Katy. (And her own inner turmoil over whether to smack him with a shovel or stare at his rock-hard abs.) This is definitely a new favorite & I CANNOT WAIT to see what happens next!

The Ascended (The Saving Angels #3) by Tiffany King

The Ascended is the final installment of The Saving Angels Trilogy. With Krista's life in turmoil, she is now struggling with the responsibilities that have been passed down to her. With the help of Haniel and her friends, Krista risks everything, including her soul, to march into the den of the Dark Angel. Their only chance for survival is for Krista to find the courage to accept the new role that fate has bestowed upon her, even if it means losing her loved ones forever.
Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.

My Review
A-MA-ZING!!!! This was such a beautiful ending to the series! Krista has grown & changed so much since the beginning. She's become the most loyal & loving friend, willing to sacrifice anything & everything to help her new family even after the pain of having her heart broken. Haniel is extraordinary & surprising as usual - I really can't get enough of him! This book definitely has some pretty intense moments, but you can feel the shared love & unity among the band of friends, and it gives you hope that somehow they can get through anything. I will miss them all dearly!
